About the Town of Nanticoke, NY

Located on the western edge of Broome County just northwest of Binghamton, the Town of Nanticoke proudly carries the motto “The biggest little town in Broome County” and serves a close‑knit community of over 1,600 residents. Established in 1831 from the town of Lisle and named in honor of the Nanticoke people, our 24.36‑square‑mile landscape weaves together European settlement roots dating to 1793 with rolling hills, pristine waterways, and welcoming hamlets. Governed by an elected Town Board, we are dedicated to preserving our heritage, fostering neighborly bonds, and stewarding the natural beauty that defines Nanticoke.
